Siapakah dia Muhd Ozcay?

ولد محمد أوزچاي بمدينة چاي قره التابعة لولاية طرابزون في تركيا عام م ١٩٦١. وأكمل تعليمه الإبتدائي والمتوسط والثانوي بمدينة گَرَدَه، ثم تخرج عام ١٩٨٦م من كلية الإلهيات، التابعة لجامعة أتاتورك بأرضروم، حيث تَعرّفَ هناك على الخطاط فؤاد باَشار الأرضرومي، فأخذ عنه خط النسخ أولاً، ثم تعلم على يديه خط الثلث بعد ذلك.

شارك محمد أوزچاي في مسابقتي الخط الدوليتين الأولى (١٩٨٦) والثانية (١٩٨٩) اللتين أجراهما مركز الأبحاث للتاريخ والفنون والثقافة الإسلامية بإستانبول (إرسيكا)، وفاز بست جوائز في مختلف الفروع أهمها الجائزة الأولى في الثلث والنسخ في المسابقة الأولى. وقد أكرمه الله بكتابة المصحف الشريف الذي طبع عدة مرات بمقاسات مختلفة، كان أولها عام ١٩٩٢، وقام أيضاً بطباعة سورة يس وكثير من لوحاته بصورة فنية. ونشر أوزچاي عام ٢٠٠٧ بعض أعماله الفنية التي توالت خلال خمسة وعشرين عاما في كتابه المعروف ب«نور عيني» والذي صدر بالإنجليزية وتليه صدور النسخة التركية قريبا.

يشارك أوزچاي في عضوية لجان تحكيم عديد من المسابقات الدولية لفن الخط، بالإضافة إلى مشاركته في أكثر من عشرين معرض دولي داخل تركيا وخارجها علاوة على معارضه الشخصية. وقد اكتسبت أعماله بعدا جديدا وذلك باستخدامه حبرا سيّالا والوانا مختلفة في أعماله و محاولته إظهار انسيابية الحروف ولا سيما في الخطوط الجلية.

ومن أهم إنجازاته في مجال فن الخط كتابته تسويدات لأول مرة بالثلث الجلي والنسخ الجلي باستخدامه مختلف ألوان الحبر، و بذلك كوّ ن أسلوبه الشخصي في هذا المجال.

وقد أخذت مئات الأعمال الفنية التي كتبها محمد أوزچاي حتى الآن بخطوط الثلث الجلي والثلث والنسخ والإجازة والديواني الجلي مكانها في مختلف المتاحف والمجموعات الشخصية المعروفة في داخل البلاد وخارجها

Mehmed Özçay was born in 1961 in the Çaykara district of the province of Trabzon, in Turkey. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Gerede, subsequently graduating from the School of Theology of Atatürk University, Erzurum, in 1986. He studied naskh and thulth scripts with the calligrapher Fuat Başar, whom he met there in 1982, and received his licence (ijazah) from him.

Özçay participated in the first two (1986 and 1989) international calligraphy competitions organized by the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), winning six prizes in various categories, most notably First Prize in thulth-naskh scripts. In addition to his copy of the Holy Qur’an, which was first published in 1992, fine art reproductions of his copy of the Surat Ya-Sin and of many of his panels have been printed. A selection of his works spanning twenty-five years was published in 2007 in two albums, “Nur-u Ayni” in Arabic and “Spoken by the Hand, Heard by the Eye” in English.

Beside serving as a jury member in international calligraphy competitions, Özçay has participated in more than twenty international exhibitions, as well as in solo shows. The dilute color inks he uses especially in jali inscriptions highlight all the moves of the pen, adding a new dimension to his works. He has developed a personal style with colored karalama (“scribble”) panels in jali thulth and jali naskh scripts, a novel style in the karalama tradition.
